Perception of remote work effect on employees' mental health and well-being
Remote working is generally perceived as beneficial for employees’ mental health and well-being: 53% of companies report positive effects, compared with only 6% expecting negative effects. A further 23% do not perceive any impact, while 18% provided no response.
Companies in the Information and communication and Financial and insurance activities sectors are the most likely to view remote working as beneficial for employees’ mental health and well-being.
Perception of employees' job related stress when working remotely
In addition, employers often perceive positive effects of remote working on employees’ job-related stress. In particular, 50% of employers believe that employees working remotely two days per week experience lower levels of job-related stress than those working fully on-site. By contrast, only 4% of companies indicate that remote working could lead to higher levels of job-related stress among employees. A further 28% do not expect any link between remote working and job-related stress. Although the shares vary across sectors, the vast majority of companies in all industries expect remote working to have beneficial rather than detrimental effects on job-related stress.
